Fire Features

Fire features, such as fire pits and outdoor fireplaces, provide aesthetic value to your yard that everyone can gather around. They’re an amazing addition to any backyard for entertaining guests, or just for relaxation.

Pacific Outdoor Living’s fire features are available in an array of styles and materials. They can mold to any design style (for fire feature ideas, view our gallery ), from modern to Mediterranean. However, this creates a problem for the homeowner who may be unsure which fire feature will suit their needs the best.

Here are some fire feature options for you to review before getting started on your project.

FIRE PIT

From family fun to a relaxing conversation with friends, fire pits are a great way to get people outdoors. Pacific Outdoor Living can have these custom-built to your specific needs or can purchase them pre-built. The typical size of a fire pit ranges between 12 to 18 inches. They can be built in an array of styles and materials to create a one-of-a-kind feature for your home. They can be made from many different materials and can come in different shapes and sizes, although the most popular shapes are round or square.

Pre-built fireplaces use propane as a fuel source instead of a gas line. This is the most cost-effective option. A custom fire pit can also be built, which includes running a gas line into the fire pit. This option allows you to completely customize your fire pit and match it to your existing outdoor space. Fire pits can also be built free-standing or can be custom built to include seating.

Fire pits can be a fun place to roast marshmallows with the kids, or relax next to after a long day. You can add lava rocks or fire glass, depending on the look you’re after.

FIRE BOWL

Fire Bowls are a statement piece that add flair to your property. Fire bowls offer a clean, modern look that can be used to enhance a patio, pool or spa.

Common materials used in fire bowls are brass, copper, concrete and ceramic. They can be filled with fire glass or lava rocks, depending on your style. These fire features require a gas line to operate and can also include a self-starter feature that can be controlled remotely. The primary use for fire bowls are for aesthetics, however they are an excellent source of light and heat if that is the desired use.

Fire bowls lend themselves to more of a modern style, but can be customized to fit a more traditional style if that’s what you’re after.

Although fireplaces are the most expensive option, they are very durable and can create an entirely new meeting place and focal point for your outdoor space.

Depending on your city ordinances, fireplaces may need to be engineered and additional permits may be required. It is important to take these factors into consideration before deciding if a new outdoor fireplace is right for you .
